Choosing a digital cluster for your BMW

The selection includes applications for 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 Series; X1, X2, X3, X4, X5, X6 and Z4. Fitment is checked by reference, not simply by display size or vehicle badge.

Models, generations and factory configuration

Identify the chassis code, such as E60/E61, E90/E91/E92/E93, F30/F31 or E70, and CCC, CIC or NBT when required by the product. TR5002 has explicit restrictions: no diesel vehicles and no factory HUD. Later F30/F31/F35/F34 and F32/F33/F36 applications are listed in TR5017.

Functions and differences between BMW clusters

The new references include 11-inch and 12.3-inch clusters alongside other configurations. CarPlay and Android Auto are not included in every model: the new BMW units in this range focus on instrumentation and do not include them. Check projection functions separately on other references.

Instrumentation, connectivity and central screen

A digital instrument cluster displays information in the driver area. CarPlay, Android Auto and Miracast are different functions and should only be treated as included when listed for the selected reference. Operating system, diagonal, resolution and layouts also vary; not every screen is touch-enabled or allows app installation.

Checks before ordering and installation

  • Confirm the model, generation and year, including product restrictions.
  • Compare a factory cluster photograph and select a variant where offered.
  • Check steering side, engine and equipment when required by the product.
  • Arrange professional installation and verify indicators, warning lights and information after fitting.

Frequently asked questions about BMW digital clusters

Can I choose simply by 3 Series, 5 Series or X5?

No. Confirm chassis, year, engine and factory equipment, especially HUD and multimedia system. Restrictions must be checked on the exact reference rather than transferred to or ignored on other models.

Are all original data and functions retained?

This depends on the vehicle and reference. Check the supported indicators and functions in the product; do not assume a function that is not described for that configuration.
