Comes in brown cartboard box. No installation manual nor user manual. It's was Ok for me, as many similar items manuals could be found from the net.
Mine didn't contain an LVDS cable, but they sent it for free, unluckily I found it missing during the installation, and wasn't able to take it in immediately use, as without it you cannot view the car's own iDrive menus.
I haven't made comparisons to other products, nor have previous experience of these Android units, so can't say whether its good or not for features it has. One thing I had to do, was to create own google account for the device, because if using the same on my phone, it messed the contacts.
So as my car has many users, I gave up playing with the accounts and phone pairing, For those who actually want every mail and message pop up in the device, it might be a good to play with the settings a bit to get the all out of it. I'm sure it's no problem for the millennials generation.
Also a 4G sim was obviously first thing to order to get immediate online every time seamlessly, no any phone pairing or wifi hotspot hassle.
In daily use, it starts fast, I can use the steering wheel buttons and iDrive knob on most of apps, eases the use. GPS and google maps works as expected seamlessly. The car's own radio must be on aux mode for sounds, so I have given up listening radio. Although I'm planning to use internet radios once I found a good app or site for those.
In general, if there would be easy step by step instructions to install, on the site for example, it would ease to make the purchase decision for most people, for me, I took the risk. Support on the other hand I found was super. Tradetec has ticket system for ease follow, and they answer WhatsUp messages.
Great item to bring e65 to up to date with media.
My next steps are to install the reversing camera and maybe some external keyboard to ease typing text. The big screen while driving is no good for inputting text, and same applies stationary.
